Meet Nina

I believe wellbeing should work in real life.

For more than two decades, I have helped women understand what supports them. Today, my work is about making that knowledge easier to live—one small rhythm at a time.

How I arrived here

Yoga taught me to pay attention. Life taught me to keep adapting.

I began teaching yoga in Cape Town in 2003. Over the years I founded Yoga Awakening Africa, helped train yoga teachers and continued learning about the practical relationship between our daily choices and how we feel.

Again and again, I saw the same gap: most women already knew a great deal about wellbeing. The difficult part was following through when work, family, changing bodies and ordinary life got involved.

Knowing what to do and living it consistently are two very different things.

My approach

Change does not need to begin with an overhaul.

It begins by noticing what matters now, choosing something small enough to live and learning how to return when life interrupts.

01

Simple

One useful focus is more powerful than ten good intentions competing for attention.

02

Curious

We experiment, notice and adjust. What happened is information—not proof that you failed.

03

Supported

Structure, community and accountability make it easier to keep going and begin again.

Practised in real life

I do not teach from a perfectly controlled laboratory.

I spent six and a half years living in rural Mozambique before returning to South Africa and moving aboard a catamaran. Different places, changing plans and boat life have made one thing very clear: a useful rhythm must be flexible enough to travel with you.

My work is grounded in yoga and health coaching, but also in kitchens, relationships, early mornings, interrupted plans and all the wonderfully untidy parts of being human.
